Association of Administrators of the Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance (AAICAMA)

Though not an affiliate of APHSA, the Association of Administrators of the Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance, a nonprofit corporation established in 1986 to facilitate the administration of the compact, has chosen APHSAto provide its secretariat services. APHSA staff provides member states with technical assistance and support in administering the compact and also assists them in improving professional practices pertaining to the interstate aspect of adoption assistance programs. In addition, the secretariat facilitates the collaboration of activities and exchange of information among compact administrators, private adoption agency representatives, and others concerned with special-needs adoptions to improve services for special-needs children and their families.

Association of Administrators of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (AAICPC)

Besides being an affiliate of APHSA, AAICPC obtains its secretariat services through APHSA. The AAICPC was established in 1974 and consists of member states from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) is not only statutory law in all 52 jurisdictions, it is also a binding contract between all parties. The ICPC establishes uniform legal and administrative procedures governing the interstate placement of children. ICPC is the best means we have to ensure protection and services to children who are placed across state lines. The Secretariat provides ongoing administrative, legal, and technical assistance to individual states that administer the compact. The Secretariat also provides administrative, legal, and technical assistance to the network of ICPC member states for the purpose of resolving problems of mutual concern, and formulating common policies, practices, and goals.

IT Solutions Management for Human Services (ISM)

Promotes understanding within the field, exchanges technical and design information, and promotes the goals of APHSA.

Center for Workers with Disabilities (CWD)

The Center for Workers with Disabilities was established in January 2001 at APHSA to help states implement the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999 (TWWIIA) and related efforts intended to enhance employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.

National Association for Program Information and Performance Measurement (NAPIPM)

Provides states and territories with a forum for sharing mutual concerns on quality control activities and their related issues.

The mission of NAPIPM is to promote and enhance excellence in the planning and administration of state human service programs through the development, collection, analysis, and evaluation of program data, and outcomes and performance information for use in informed decision making.

National Association of Hearing Officials (NAHO)

Formerly an affiliate of APHSA, NAHO is now an independent organization. Their web site is at http://www.naho.org.

National Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators (NAPCWA)

NAPCWA, created in 1983, works to enhance and improve public policy and administration of services for children, youth, and families. As the only organization devoted solely to representing administrators of state and local public child welfare agencies, NAPCWA brings an informed view of the problems facing families today to the formulation of child welfare policy.

National Association of State Child Care Administrators (NASCCA)

The mission of NASCCA is to enhance the capacity of child care administrators, to improve the quality of child care programs and to contribute to APHSA policy development. NASCCA holds regular meetings that allow administrators to exchange information and ideas on policy and new approaches to child care issues.

National Association of State TANF Administrators (NASTA)

The mission of NASTA is to enhance professional development, to share promising practices among state members and to help guide the development of APHSA policy in the areas of TANF and welfare reform. The work of the NASTA includes a regular series of meetings and discussions that focus on TANF policy, law and regulation.
