2007 State Perspectives Medicaid Pharmacy Policies and Practices
On November 12, NASMD along with Health Management Associates released the second annual pharmacy report. The past two years have been a challenging time for state pharmacy programs due to new Congressional regulations and the transitioning of dual eligibles to Medicare Part D. Medicaid provided 19 percent of the total national prescription drug spending in 2005. This report is a compilation of state responses to these and other challenges that have been affecting pharmacy coverage.

State Perspectives on Emerging Medicaid Long-Term Care Policies and Practices
On November 12, NASMD released a report on Long-Term Care policies and practices that consists of perspectives from 44 states, Puerto Rico, and Guam. The purpose of this survey analysis is to provide the states with an overview of the implementation of these DRA changes across the country. The paper specifically reviews the DRA changes in long-term care services and the steps the states have taken with respect to those changes.

The committee is expected to begin taking up the farm bill in September; the House passed its version (H.R. 2419) July 27.
