Desired Qualifications:
Experience: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in school health services, three of which were in a supervisory or executive capacity.
Education: Graduation from a National League for Nursing accredited college or university or an equivalent program as determined by the Maryland Board of Examiners with a Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
Licensure: Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland issued by the Maryland Board of Examiners is required at the time of appointment.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

- Master's Degree in a nursing specialty or other health management discipline.
- Supervisory experience in a school health services program.
- Experience managing delivery of public health based school health services in a public health setting.
- Experience providing training, mentoring, and oversight to school health Nurse Administrators and Nurse Managers in a public health setting.
- Experience developing policies and procedures and guidelines covering school health practices.
- Experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying federal, state, and county laws, regulations, policies, and procedures required for delivery of school health services in Maryland.
- Experience participating in a diverse management team responsible for school health services delivery in multicultural communities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in behavioral health or hospital administration.
- Two years managing a psychiatric hospital or inpatient psychiatric program
- Two years supervising administrative and clinical professionals and/or supervisors
Position Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the administration and direction of all School Health programs and services that are provided to 144,000 students enrolled in the 200 schools that comprise the Montgomery County Public School System. School Health Services operate School Based Health-Wellness Center Programs at six sites and a School Health Services Center Clinic which provides immunizations to assure entry to school. The employee in this position is responsible for the management of over 300 health personnel to include Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and other health personnel who provide school health room and case management. The employee manages all contracts, grants, budget, fiscal and clinical policies, practices and procedures to assure compliance with federal, state, and County laws, regulations, and requirements pertaining to the provision of primary health care services to students.
